Trans inclusion in the medical curriculum

As a medical student at the University of Dundee, Jai NicAllen recognised that there was an absence of trans medical education in the curriculum, including general awareness and education on the specific health needs and considerations for trans and non-binary people. Read about Jai’s experiences in their article ‘The reality of being transgender in medicine’ published in Student BMJ in 2016.

This short video was produced to celebrate Jai receiving the Young Scot Diversity Award in 2016. It details some of the work they have been doing to improve trans inclusion and content in the medical curriculum at the University of Dundee.
